When specifying your Filter Criteria, select the option and you’re away!

A big feature request lately has been the ability to report on individuals and whether they attended a service. Well now you can.

It’s as simple as editing a service, clicking on the Reporting tab and typing in people’s names. You can then click the ‘Add’ button next to their name to quickly add them to the service.

You can then create reports on attendance on the Reports page and clicking on the Services tab. Brilliant!

This is the first version so we plan to expand on this in the future. At present it’s only in the Web version but we’d love to add it to the Mobile version soon.

The last thing you want to do is tick your people off. This new feature will definitely help those who are no longer interested in your newsletters and mail outs.

How does it work? In any email that you send out to a large amount of people from the People page or the Services page (volunteers), at the bottom of each email it gives them the opportunity for them to unsubscribe. Simple as that! As interesting as we all think our emails are, not everyone feels the same

Please note that this does not unsubscribe them from your MailChimp lists if you use this feature. This only applies to emails sent from within elvanto.

Lots of tweaks have been made over the past couple of weeks so I thought I’d give an update on where we’re at…

• Print off room name on labels
• Improved adding family from check-in screen
• Improved adding child to family from check-in screen
• Ability to edit custom fields from check-in screen
• Improved self check-in interface
• Change label font size
• Bug fixes to child check-in reports
• Other bug fixes

It’s coming along nicely. And never fear, we still have printing from tablets and smart phones on our list to do. At the moment we are focused on getting the check-in system fully functional on desktop computers.

That’s right. You can either upload photos for church members via their profile or church members can upload their own from their ‘My Account’ page.

From the admin, it’s as simple as editing the person and clicking on their profile picture on the left.

This will take you to a page where you can upload a new pic or edit the thumbnail of the current pic. We’ve got a cool little thumbnail picker you can use. I like it a lot.

Your church members have a similar sort of interface for editing their profile pictures too.

The reason it’s still in BETA is we still have some testing to do with touch screens, label printers, barcode scanning and some other features. We’ve still got some extra reporting to add in. But other than that it’s fully functional and can start being rolled out in your services.

So how does it work? Let’s say you have a person called Sarah who is a Group Leader but also runs the Women’s Ministry.

You might have an Access Permission for Group Leaders and one for Women’s Ministry leaders.

Assigning Sarah to either of these limits her access. So in the past what you’d have to do is create a special Access Permission just for her so she can access both areas of the database.

With the new set-up, you can assign her both the Group Leader and a Women’s Ministry Access Permission so you don’t have to create a special Access Permission just for her.

Pretty simple but mighty powerful.

What/who is MailChimp?

Glad you asked. If you have not been lucky enough to come across MailChimp, then today’s your day. MailChimp is online software that allows you to send email marketing campaigns for free (up to a certain amount of sends per month) to people in your church. They give you all sorts features and statistics to help make your email campaigns a success. You can set-up different lists and groups within those lists. You can find out all the details and sign up on their website.

Getting set-up

You will need to go into Account Settings -> People Settings and configure the Email Marketing Integration section. You’ll need to select MailChimp as your provider, grab a copy of your API Key and paste it into the API Key field.

It will then load all of your lists and groups from your account. Select the lists and groups you’d like to be able to subscribe your people to.

Once you save your changes you can then edit people and assign to them what lists and groups they fit into.

When editing a report or people view, you now have the ability to display as individuals or families.

You can also add family related fields and addresses to your reports making it super easy to do mail merges and to discover the families in your church. Easy!

Child check-in is in the final stages and we hope to release it in the next couple of weeks!
