Is there any legal information I should know before uploading songs, charts and lyrics?
elvanto is not responsible for any mp3s, charts or lyric files you upload. It is illegal to share any file you do not have a license for. However. if you own all the copyrights to a song (you may have written a song or obtained a license to distribute it electronically) you are free to upload it to elvanto.
You can obtain a CCLI License which covers the distribution of lyrics, charts & self recorded audio of your band for most worship songs. However, to be safe it would be worth double checking that your license allows you to do so.
Church Copyright Solutions is also a great resource for finding more information about copyrights.
If you can’t get copyrights, a great way to provide song audio and information is to link to the song at an online music store such as iTunes or AmazonMP3. This way volunteers can listen to the sample music and purchase it online.
